    This position is responsible for basic operation and support of a Laminating / Lamination Machine  according to company laminating procedures and guidelines.  This is a 'Contract-to-Hire' opportunity offering increasing wages, overtime and union membership.  Candidates must be available to work 12 hours daily, alternating weekly work schedules Monday to Thursday or Friday to Sunday.  

    Responsibilities

    SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Follow all safety procedures.
    • Use correct materials according to the specification form.
    • Monitor machine conditions using the Process Control Form.
    • Maintain and care for the equipment.
    • Provide the required information on the work order.
    • Properly identify all material produced using ID and Status Tags.
    • Provide samples for the testing lab from each roll produced. 

    QUALITY RESPONSIBILITY:

    • Produce each order according as outlined. 
    • Notify quality department of any discrepancies.
    • Visually inspect material while running and flag any defects observed.
    • Provide samples from each roll produced for laboratory testing.

    Qualifications

    QUALIFICATIONS: Requires basic understanding of coating and laminating process. Must have basic knowledge of products and their use.

    EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

    • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    LANGUAGE SKILLS:

    • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
    • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
    • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers and/or employees in the Organization.

    MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

    • Ability to add, subtracts, multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. 

    • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, use hands to finger and reach with hands and arms.
    • The employee is also required to walk, handle or feel, stoop, crouch, and talk or hear.
    • On occasion, the employee is required to sit, climb or balance, kneel and crawl.
    • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
    • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision (ability to identify and distinguish colors), peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

    OTHER WORK REQUIREMENTS:

    • Availability to work Overtime when requested is required.
    • Availability to back up on other shifts on short notice if needed.
