    This position is responsible for basic operation and support of a Slitting or Slitter Machine used to cut or slice large roles of laminated or tape products into smaller usable rolls according to company procedures and guidelines. This is a 'Contract-to-Hire' opportunity offering increasing wages, overtime and union membership.  Candidates must be available to work 12 hours daily, alternating weekly work schedules Monday to Thursday or Friday to Sunday.



    • Basic Setup and Operation support of Slitter or Slitting Machine. 
    • Learn and understand the mechanics of the machine
    • Perform set-up and run machining operation and perform miscellaneous tasks if needed
    • Identify and perform minor repairs and adjustment to equipment
    • Responsible for production and quality of product output and production reporting
    • Notify supervisor of any malfunctions to the equipment
    • Keep work area clean and prepare equipment for the following shift.


    QUALIFICATIONS: Requires basic understanding of Slitting Equipment and Lamination production proccess.  


    EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.



    • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
    • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
    • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers and/or employees in the Organization.

    MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:  Ability to add, subtracts, multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.


    PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

    • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, use hands to finger and reach with hands and arms.
    • The employee is also required to walk, handle or feel, stoop, crouch, and talk or hear.
    • On occasion, the employee is required to sit, climb or balance, kneel and crawl.
    • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
    • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision (ability to identify and distinguish colors), peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. 


    • Availability to work Overtime when requested is required.
    • Availability to back up on other shifts on short notice if needed.
